Monday 27th Sept

A Workshop Evening

Workshop Evening  –  We are inviting our members along to an interactive event  whereby we can bring along our cameras or images to share with fellow members.

We will begin the evening with an introduction about our Society.  We will share some of our members images to show a selection of styles and successes which you will find inspiring.

We will be given an opportunity to discuss any problems or advice about our own cameras with fellow club members – so please feel free to bring your camera along.

If you have any images that you would like to bring along please do so and we will share these with  some of our more experienced members who  will offer some helpful advice and critique to improving these.

It is a great opportunity to welcome some of our newer members – so please come along for a very enjoyable evening.

Back to the Hall

We have surveyed our membership and the majority responded that they would like to attend meetings at the New Hall, Emmanuel.  Our first meeting will be President’s Night on 20th September 2021.

Much thought has gone into making the venue safe and, in addition to measures covered in our Risk Assessment, the Council have agreed that we would like people to wear masks whilst moving around the venue.

Recognising some people may be unable to attend meetings in person we will zoom broadcast meetings from the hall where we have speakers or competitions.  For the season 2021/2022 all our speakers (except one early in 2022) and judges will be live in the hall.

We have a very exciting programme this year and are looking forward to seeing old friends and making new ones.  Membership subscription have returned to 2019/2020 rates and visitors are always welcome.

Southport Photographic Society

The society was founded in 1890, making it one of the oldest photographic societies in the the country. It is also one of the best-known, thanks to our Annual National Open Exhibition which attracts entries from the UK’s leading photographers. In October we will be celebrating our 130th Anniversary.

Yet despite the society’s age and fame, SPS is simply a diverse group of photographers with skill levels ranging from beginner to experienced, who meet to chat and share knowledge every Monday from September to April.

Our program includes a variety of photographic talks and presentations as well as competition nights for new and advanced photographers.

If you are interested in photography, want to learn more about this fascinating activity and/or want to meet like-minded people why not join us? Visitors are always welcome and who knows where one visit might take you, we are looking forward to meeting you.
